About this Event

Finding Calm in Everyday Life
Stress · Emotional Balance · Resilience

Life can be busy, demanding and sometimes overwhelming.

Join Saan and Haisong Wang for a relaxed and interactive community session exploring simple ways to better understand everyday stress, support emotional balance and build greater resilience.

Rather than focusing only on stress itself, this session encourages participants to notice how stress affects the body and mind, recognise their own patterns, and explore practical techniques that can be used in everyday life.

What to expect

During this one-hour session, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • learn about everyday stress and emotional wellbeing
  • reflect on common personal stress triggers
  • recognise simple physical and emotional signs of stress
  • explore the connection between breathing, body awareness and relaxation
  • practise simple calming and grounding techniques
  • learn practical strategies for responding to everyday challenges
  • ask questions and share ideas in a supportive community environment

Interactive Self-Check

Participants will be invited to reflect on simple questions such as:

What tends to make me feel stressed?

How does stress show up in my body?

What helps me feel calmer and more balanced?

This is an informal wellbeing reflection rather than a clinical assessment.

Practical Calm & Reset

The presenters will guide participants through some simple techniques that may include:

  • slow and relaxed breathing
  • grounding and body-awareness exercises
  • gentle movement
  • releasing physical tension
  • simple mindfulness and present-moment awareness
  • practical self-care strategies that can be used at home or at work

Haisong Wang may also introduce simple traditional Chinese health concepts and gentle self-care approaches, such as breathing, relaxation and basic acupressure for general wellbeing.

Building Everyday Resilience

The session will also explore practical ways to support resilience in daily life, including:

  • creating small moments of pause during a busy day
  • maintaining healthy routines
  • recognising when the body and mind need rest
  • responding rather than reacting to stressful situations
  • developing simple habits that support emotional balance
  • finding practical ways to reset and reconnect

Take-Home Wellbeing Tips

Participants will leave with a small collection of practical ideas that can be continued in everyday life.

The aim is not to remove every source of stress, but to develop greater awareness and more useful ways of responding to life’s challenges.
