About this Event
Everyone has a story to tell. You do not need to be a writer or filmmaker already! Local author Jordan Rosenfeld and local filmmaker Robin Shepherd guide participants to creative self-expression in an era increasingly dominated by the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
Drawing upon Jordan’s decades of experience as a novelist, essayist and writing craft instructor, and Robin’s narrative journalism and documentary film experience, this two-hour workshop will teach participants how to mine their own truths and history and voice to create compelling stories. Come prepared to write, share and explore storytelling techniques.
Jordan is author of the novels Fallout, Women in Red, and Forged in Grace and seven books on the craft of writing, most recently The Sound of Story: Developing Voice & Tone in Writing. She has taught widely at writing conferences, universities and through her own online courses at jordanrosenfeld.net.
Robin Shepherd is the series creator and writer/director of History Makers, a docuseries now on YouTube, and the director of Stories from the Past, a collection of 12 oral history films created for the Morgan Hill Historical Society. Robin also co-directed the documentary, Sue’s Story: A Journey with Lewy Body Dementia, for the Susan & Charles Berghoff Foundation, where she serves as Executive Director.
