Series Description:

Whether you are a student startup with a brand new idea, a small business owner with a side project, or a seasoned business mogul, the Entrepreneur Workshops focus on a variety of topics pertinent to your journey. Sponsored by Pillsbury Law and hosted by the Office of Innovation and Commercialization’s The Basement, these workshops are open to everyone.  We invite you to register for as many sessions as you are interested in! Light refreshments will be provided.

Event Description:

Learn the basics of how to properly finance your startup, small business, or social venture. Get familiar with the concepts and terminology related to entrepreneurial financing, learn how to build a financial model, and understand how to conduct basic analysis of financial statements and projections. Whether it’s learning how to define revenue and expense assumptions or the best source of capital for your company, this workshop will cover the basic financial knowledge needed to start and operate your business.

About the Speaker:

Maileen Flores, Partner, Richtr Financial Studio |

Maileen Flores is a Partner with Richtr Financial Studio and is based in San Diego. She is a CPA in CA & CO. Through her work as a fractional CFO and Accounting expert, she works closely with startup and scaleup Founders to craft financial strategies that accelerate growth and scalability. She has worked in a variety of board roles and is regularly involved as a mentor assisting early-stage startups. She also supports life science companies as an active member of Biocom’s Capital Development Committee.

This event is located on the first floor of the . The entrances are located across from the or next to the bus and trolley stop.

MTS Trolley

The easiest way to get to the DIB is by taking the MTS trolley UC San Diego Blue Line and getting off at the UC San Diego Central Campus stop. The trolley stop is a short 1 minute walk to the DIB.

Parking

Public transportation is highly recommended as parking is limited on campus. If you plan to drive to campus, please give yourself plenty of time. You can download the ParkMobile app to pay for your space digitally once you find a spot.
