The Final Year Students program is a free, one-day workshop designed exclusively for final-year dental students across Australia.

Our goal is simple, to help you feel confident, capable, and ready to take your next step into private practice.

You’ve mastered the theory. Now it’s time to learn what really matters in the day-to-day life of a dentist - from patient communication and clinical workflow to confidence, mindset, and professional growth.

What you'll learn:

Private Practice Essentials- Learn what life is really like in private practice — from patient flow and appointment structure to treatment planning and clinical decision-making. We’ll walk you through common first-year challenges, help you understand what to expect (and what to avoid), and show you how to start your career on the right foot

Confidence Behind The Chair- Confidence doesn’t just come from skill — it comes from experience, communication, and the ability to connect with your patients. In this session, you’ll learn how to build trust, explain treatment clearly, manage patient expectations, and handle those “first year nerves” with confidence and professionalism.

Hands on clinical skills- This is where we get practical. You’ll take part in hands-on sessions designed to strengthen your clinical skills and give you the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in a supportive environment. Expect guided demonstrations, technique refreshers, and plenty of time to practise and ask questions.

Extra’s + Advanced Topics-Go beyond the basics with real-world exposure to the treatments and technologies shaping modern dentistry. Our mentors will cover key areas such as dental photography, surgical extractions, implant placement, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, and intraoral scanning — helping you understand how these fit into your future clinical journey.
