Films That Awaken New Depths: An Ocean Storytelling Evening
About this Event
Join us for a special screening of the winning short films from the 2026 Oceanic Global Short Film Festival, in collaboration with our local watershed protector Russian Riverkeeper.
This year’s theme, Films That Awaken New Depths, explores our relationship with the ocean through short films on discovery, coexistence, and what stands to be lost.
Hosted at Harmon Guest House, the program features three award-winning short films spanning the categories Human Connection, Living Systems, and Discovery, including the Open Water Grand Jury Prize winner. From the migration of the white shark to surfing Senegal’s coastline to a reimagined wild salmon journey, each story invites audiences to reconnect with the ocean through awe, curiosity, and human connection.
Selected by an international jury, the program highlights the power of storytelling to deepen our relationship with the natural world and is an official activity of the UN Ocean Decade, made possible by festival partner Design Hotels.

- A 40-minute, curated short film program
