A journey to the heart of sonidero culture in Mexico City's working-class neighborhoods. This documentary by Joyce García tours Tepito, La Merced, and other corners where music, lights, and dance become identity, refuge, and community territory.
The film shows how sonideros resist gentrification and the banning of their parties, while also highlighting the role of women and the importance of these spaces as celebrations of freedom and cultural memory.

Un viaje al corazón de la cultura sonidera en los barrios populares de la CDMX. Este documental de Joyce García recorre Tepito, La Merced y otras esquinas donde la música, las luces y el baile se vuelven identidad, refugio y territorio comunitario.
La película muestra cómo los sonideros resisten frente a la gentrificación y la prohibición de sus fiestas, al tiempo que visibiliza el papel de las mujeres y la importancia de estos espacios como celebraciones de libertad y memoria cultural.
