Film Screening - Sleeping at Last: Light Carries On
About this Event
Join us for a film screening of "Light Carries On" featuring the music and story of Sleeping at Last. We'll have some light snacks and drinks and plan for a brief discussion about the film following the showing.
-------------
Sleeping At Last: Light Carries On is a feature-length documentary that offers an intimate journey with musician Ryan O’Neal. Tracing the story from the early days of Sleeping At Last as a band to Ryan’s evolution as a solo artist, the film explores the deeply personal challenges interwoven with his music — from stage and health anxieties to the devastating loss of his mother to cancer.
Filmed across New York City, London, and Chicago, the documentary blends concert footage, rehearsals, and candid interviews to capture Ryan at pivotal moments: preparing for performances, reflecting in studios, and stepping onto world-renowned stages such as Royal Albert Hall.
As Ryan wrestles with grief and the fear of performing, his return to live shows becomes an act of courage. What emerges is a portrait of an artist navigating loss and rediscovering hope, a meditation on music’s power to carry us through even our darkest seasons. Learn more about the film.
about your hosts and the glass house
It's our belief that we're all co-creators with a deep need to create and be known. As Mako Fujimura would say, our creating is an act of love. When we love, we create, and when we create, we love.
We've transformed a century old glass house into a space where we can experience the joy of creating in community. In doing so, we open ourselves up to the possibility of transformation into people of greater love and joy.
We've hosted many different types of workshops here: modern floral design, photography--and the business of photography, relationships and the enneagram, acrylic painting, and sourdough bread baking.
We look forward to creating together!
With love,
Chris & Becky
