Summary: Ma Shanglai (played by Feng Gong) lives in the mountain city of Chongqing and has spent his entire career working as a community mediator. Over the years, he has faced countless conflicts, setbacks, and even moments of danger, yet he remains deeply committed to his work and genuinely enjoys helping others resolve their disputes.

As retirement approaches, Ma has no intention of slowing down. Instead of settling into a quiet life at home, he plans to open his own mediation studio to continue serving the public. His wife (played by Niu Li), however, is furious at the idea and does everything she can to stop him from returning to work.

At the same time, a man named Mao Xuewang (played by Tu Songyan) maliciously registers Ma Shanglai’s name as his own, posing as a mediator while pursuing profit by any means necessary. During Ma’s struggle against this impostor, he unexpectedly meets Jin Zhen (played by Mao Junjie), a close friend of his apprentice (played by Zhang Xiaofei). Jin Zhen’s enthusiastic admiration for Ma sparks jealousy in Mao Xuewang and further fuels the anger of Ma’s already exasperated wife.

As he enters middle age, Ma Shanglai finds that life—both personal and professional—becomes more complicated, and far more entertaining, than ever before.

人过中年，马尚来的人生似乎变得愈加精彩起来……
