Celebrate Juneteenth with a screening of six short films highlighting Nicodemus National Historic Site, a Western National Parks partner park. The Kansas site protects, preserves, and interprets the oldest and only remaining Black settlement west of the Mississippi River, mostly founded by formerly enslaved people in 1878 at the end of the post-Civil War Reconstruction Era.
These films explore Nicodemus’ rich history and the enduring legacy carried forward by descendants who still call it home today. Not rated. Runtime: 20 minutes.
Free. No reservation required. Space is limited. Seating is first-come, first-served.
