Film Production Foundations
About this Event
Film Production Foundations is a 25-hour, hands-on workshop offered through LCV Film Lab at LaSalle College Vancouver. Over five weeks, you’ll move through every stage of the filmmaking process — from writing your script to stepping on set to editing your final cut — guided every step of the way by experienced industry instructors.
You’ll walk away with real, hands-on skills and a finished short film or PSA made as part of a real production crew. And if you decide you want to take it further, completing this workshop earns you a $349 discount on tuition toward LaSalle College Vancouver’s Film and Media Production diploma.
By the end of the workshop, you will have hands-on experience with:
• Camera operation — exposure, focus, white balance, shot composition
• Developing a short-form story concept and writing a script
• Planning a shoot with a storyboard, shot list, and call sheet
• Working on a real set with basic lighting and sound equipment
• Editing your footage in Adobe Premiere and exporting a polished final cut
• The film industry landscape and what a career in production looks like
