Join us for the premiere of "Founding Moorhead", a new documentary short film, followed by a Q & A session with writer Markus Krueger and director Tony Tilton. Description
Join us for the premiere of a new documentary about the founding of Moorhead, created by the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County (HCSCC) and Moorhead Community Access Media (MCAM), in conjunction with the Moorhead Arts and Culture Commission.
Markus Krueger of HCSCC took one of the History on Tap presentations that he has given locally and adapted it into a script that MCAM’s Tony Tilton could show on the silver screen. Markus and Tony, along with City of Moorhead liaison Ethan Johnk, filmed on location at Probstfield Farm, Burbank Station, Buffalo River State Park, and downtown Moorhead to create a 25-minute documentary about the treaties that let us live here, early pioneers, and the Northern Pacific Railway choosing a site for a bridge in 1871.
Following the short film, writer/presenter Markus Krueger and director Tony Tilton will do a question-and-answer session about making this historical documentary, which may turn into an ongoing series!
This event is free-of-charge and open to to the public; registration is not required.
