Hvordan kan vi bidra til en mer rettferdig kunstforvaltning? Nasjonalmuseet inviterer til visning av den prisvinnende dokumentaren «Dahomey», etterfulgt av panelsamtale om tilbakeføringen av afrikansk kunst og museenes rolle i en postkolonial tid.
Filmen reiser spørsmål om eierskap, ansvar og rettferdighet ved formidling og tilbakeføring av kunst og kulturgjenstander fra Afrika. Filmen danner utgangspunkt for en dypere samtale om kunstforvaltning og pågående repatrieringsprosesser i Europa og Afrika.
Publikum får innsikt i konkrete prosjekter og kritiske refleksjoner rundt museenes rolle i vår tid.

How Can We Make Art Management More Equitable?
The National Museum invites you to a screening of the award-winning documentary “Dahomey”, followed by a panel discussion on the restitution of African art and the role of museums in a postcolonial era.
The film raises important questions about ownership, responsibility, and justice in the display and return of African art and cultural heritage. The film serves as a starting point for a deeper conversation about art stewardship and ongoing repatriation processes across Europe and Africa.
The audience will gain insight into concrete projects and critical reflections on the role of museums in our time.
