The Latina Spring Film Series begins with the Femme Frontera Showcase. Femme Frontera centers the experiences of women and gender-expansive people within the U.S./Mexico border diaspora, as well as border regions around the world. The 9th Annual Femme Frontera Showcase includes films from Mexico and the United States. Films will be followed by a Q&A featuring Filmmaker Celina Galicia and Femme Frontera Co-Director Jackie Barragan!
The Femme Frontera Showcase is presented in partnership with the Latino Collection and Resource Center at the San Antonio Public Library.

Addressed as a letter to his lost lover, the film grapples with how queer bodies experience and express desire amidst bordercraft and state violence.
Wherever That May Be

In this story, we follow the journey of Rose, a young woman whose life is turned upside down when her health takes a turn. She moves back in with her outgoing, fun loving grandmother named Jo. Their dynamic challenges a stereotype of what it means to be healthy and what society typically expects of women their respective ages.
