Film Club | Sketches of Frank Gehry

Introduced by Piers Gough CBE, this film takes a look at the life and career of architect Frank Gehry as well as a visit to four buildings (the Vitra Museum in Germany, Maggie's Centre, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall).

Throughout the film Ghery and his long time friend Academy Award winning director Sydney Pollack’s conversation centres around creativity, which for Ghery emerged through early experiences - playing with blocks with his grandmother, drawing with his father, hearing Alvar Aalto lecture, discovering computer-assisted design, experimenting on his own home, and bringing an artist and sculptor's sensibility to architecture are part of Gehry's story.
