Join us from 6-9pm on the 2nd floor for figure drawing! Led by Annelise Vuono of Lovebug Illustrations and featuring a diverse lineup of models every single month.

No experience necessary! Annelise is a great teacher who makes these exercises approachable for those who need it and engaging for those who desire more of a challenge. 👩‍🎨
All ages and levels of artists welcome, but please note which sessions are nude/semi-nude below:
Jan 27th
Clothed Session
Focus: working on details in rendering the longer poses. Defining hair, elaborate patterns on clothes, jewelry and contrast with skin tone.
Feb 24th
Nude Session
Focus: dealing with quick changing natural lighting in the winter months (especially in the extended poses). Focus on seated poses affecting proportions and foreshortening.
March 31st
Semi-Nude Session
Focus: working on the juxtaposition of long, draping fabric wrapped around the figure. Taking note of the contrast of skin tone with the tone and textures of the fabric.
April 28th
Clothed, Live Music, Session
Focus: drawing a moving figure. In this special session, attendees will have the opportunity to listen to live music while they create, however, elements of the figure will be moving in the majority of poses allowing for practicing speed and more fluid drawings.
May 26th

June 30th
Nude Session -2 models
Focus: creating shapes from the negative spaces between two models. (I.e. Philip Pearlstein set up)
July 28th
Costumed Session
Focus: Special summer-themed session with fun summer props to aid in telling a 'story' with each drawing
August 25th
Nude Session - With Background Set Up
Focus: seeing the figure and background as an entire composition. How do elements of the background echo the space the figure is in?
September 29th
Nude Session - High Contrast Lighting
Focus: understanding muscle groups and which areas catch light/overlap on defined muscles
October 27th
Costumed Session - High Contrast Lighting
Focus: deep shadows/sharp highlights 'Rembrandt lighting' with a special Halloween themed costume
November 24th
Nude Session
Focus: proportions and skin & hair textures, intentionally losing edges, subtractive drawing
December 29th
Costumed Session
Focus: Special Renaissance Faire themed costume. Focus on drawing folds, and wrinkles in fabric and light shadows for how clothing drapes on the body and
telling a 'story' with your drawing.
