Expression, it is the soul of figurative sculpture and a most thrilling challenge. In this Figurative Sculpture Clinic we’ll explore the subtle nuances that bring faces to life and discover how abstraction can often amplify emotional impact. Developing your personal style through strategic abstraction will take your sculptures into fascinating new dimensions.
Attendees will bring in semi finished sculptures for Leah to help you refine and take your pieces to the next level. Leah Wingfield has 50 years of experience sculpting and has shown her work all over the world. It is a true honor to have her as an instructor and we’re so excited to bring her knowledge to the potters of the Rogue Valley.
Plan to attend the class with a semi finished figurative sculpture that is still wet and can be manipulated. Leah will help address proportions, angles and expressiveness to your pieces. She’ll share her proven methods for using photographs, anatomical resources and even your own body as reference.
Please note, this class is for adults ages 17 and up.
