Josephine Czarnecki
Director, Fight Director, Writer
Josephine has been directing for over ten years, starting with youth and teen theatre and moving to working with university students and professional shows. She graduated Southwestern University with a BA in English Literature, and completed her MFA in London with Honours at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama for Advanced Theatre Practice.
Her interest in theatre started with dabbling in theatrical swordplay, which she now choreographs professionally, and her work tends to focus on the fantastical, adventurous, and feminist in scope and style.
Josephine is certified in several weapon systems by the British Association of Dramatic Combat and British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat, and has interned for Santa Cruz Shakespeare under Kit Wilder, as well as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland under award-winning fight director Jonathan Toppo.
