Fiesta Flamenca Burqueña

Get ready for Fiesta Flamenca Burqueña, a free outdoor festival in Downtown Albuquerque. This vibrant event showcases legendary Flamenco artists and brings together extraordinary performances under an iconic New Mexican sunset.

Fiesta Flamenca Burqueña features a full evening of world-class Flamenco dance and music, food trucks, beverages, and more! Fiesta Flamenca is headlined by Flamenco dancer, Mercedes de Córdoba, one of Flamenco's most potent and exhilirating dancers today. She is joined by renowned Flamenco musicians also from Spain. Opening the performance will be Flamenco Works youth company, Flamenquitos del Bario, as well as Jesús Muñoz Flamenco, a nationally recognized Flamenco touring company based in Albuquerque. With the support of the City of Albuquerque, Visit Albuquerque, and New Mexico True, Flamenco Works has made this world-class event free for our families because we believe all families should get the opportunity to see Flamenco of this caliber. Food, beverages, and merchandise will be for sale at the concert. Bring your whole family to enjoy! Doors will open at 6:00 PM and performances will begin at 7:00 PM. Even though the event is free, we ask that all attendees reserve a ticket!

ABOUT INTERNATIONAL HEADLING ARTIST:

Mercedes de Córdoba (Córdoba, Spain) is one of our time's most potent and authentic dancers. She was awarded the National Flamenco Award as well as many other awards for her choreography, including “SER, ni conmigo ni sin mí” and Olvidados, which received critical acclaim at events such as the 25th Festival de Jerez, the 21st Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla, and the 6th Festival Flamenco Madrid. She has also contributed to the work of some of the biggest names in flamenco, such as Paula Comitre, Eva Yerbabuena, Fernando Jiménez, Adela Campallo, and Gema Moneo. Her contributions to the world of dance are truly remarkable. She is joined at Fiesta Flamenca Burqueña with an incredible line-up of musicians. She will also be teaching a week-long intensive workshop. Details TBA.
