Please join us for one of the longest-running car cruises in Illinois on Sunday, June 14, 2026. We will be attending the 48th annual Gears & Ears Cruise and Corn Festival at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, hosted by the Midwest Street Rod Association of Illinois (MSRA). With the association itself dating back to 1969, this event has drawn up to 750 vehicles from across the Midwest and is a fantastic way to spend the day with fellow gearheads, family, and friends. Gates open at 7:00am, with registration open from 8:00am to 1:00pm.
Pre-registration is $25.00 and is highly encouraged. You can visit MRSAofIL.org to download the form and mail it in (the link is on the far right of the page). Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a T-shirt and a dash plaque. Registration at the gate is also $25.00, though dash plaques will only be available while supplies last. All participants receive free soda, roasted corn, and the option to participate in all event games.
Please note that a $5.00 spectator fee will be charged for any attendees beyond the driver and one passenger. In addition to the games, there will be a Split-the-Pot Raffle benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children, as well as various other raffles and door prizes. While this is not a judged or classed event, the MSRA will present handcrafted trophies for specialty awards chosen by their sponsors and board members. Food vendors will also be on-site while supplies last.
To ensure we can all park together at this large event, we will meet at 7:30am at the McDonald’s on the corner of Route 34 and Route 47 in Yorkville (3 West Veterans Pkwy, Yorkville, IL 60560). This is a great chance to grab a quick bite or drink before we depart at 8:00am for the three-mile drive to the fairgrounds. We will enter the grounds off Route 71, half a mile west of Route 47. You are welcome to arrive at any time, but parking with the NIFE group is only guaranteed if you arrive with our caravan.NIFE will provide a few canopies for shade and a cooler of ice-cold water to keep everyone hydrated. If you bring your own canopy, it must be properly staked, tied, or weighted down for the safety of all vehicles and participants. Since this is a grass-parking event, please use caution if your Fiero has a low front spoiler, bumper, or side skirts. This is a rain-or-shine event with no rain date.
