oin us for a leisurely botanical stroll at East Glenwood Open Space Preserve in Scotts Valley to seek out the first blooms of spring! Early-bloomers we may encounter include padre’s shooting star (Primula clevelandii,) red maids (Calandrinia menziesii), sun cups (Taraxia ovata), milkmaids (Cardamine californica), California buttercup (Ranunculus californicus) and Pacific hound’s tongue (Adelinia grandis). Total mileage will vary depending on how often we stop but expect roughly 3-5 miles total and ~500 ft elevation gain. Bring sturdy shoes, water, and snack/lunch.Heavy rain cancels; an email will be sent by 7 p.m. the evening prior if the trip is canceled. For questions and RSVP: [email protected].
