Field Trip - Parkgate and Neston
Advertisement
Parkgate and Neston offer superb late‑October birding along the Dee Estuary. From Parkgate’s promenade, sweeping views across the salt marsh reveal hunting Marsh Harriers, Peregrines and Kestrels, along with flocks of Lapwing, Redshank and Pink‑footed Geese. Nearby Neston features farmland, hedgerows and wide estuary vistas, attracting Curlews, Godwits, Wigeons, Teal and migrating finches. Both sites provide easy, accessible viewing for newcomers while offering plenty of interest for experienced birders, with the chance of raptors and owls as daylight fades.
