Fidel García, a self-taught visual artist from Puebla, Mexico, develops a painting practice that moves between figurative realism and expressive abstraction. His work explores the tension between the corporeal and the spiritual, the real and the fantastic, employing the human figure, color, and light as vehicles of emotional energy and transcendence. His visual language combines technical rigor, expressive gesture, and constant experimentation, bringing a balance between structure and spontaneity that invites the viewer to engage in introspection.
Today, much of his recent work is permanently exhibited at the García Art Gallery in Coral Gables, Miami, providing audiences with an immersive encounter with the formal and spiritual evolution of his painting. Fidel García’s work reflects on the duality of matter and spirit, time and memory, transforming the act of painting into an immersive experience that confronts viewers with beauty, vulnerability, and transcendence.
