FASA – Fabric Artists of So. Az: FASA-Fiber Artists of Southern Arizona-is a group of established artists committed to creating and promoting textile and fiber art. Located in Tucson, Arizona, we explore many contemporary themes in our work and employ a variety of techniques: piecing, applique, collage, pleating, weaving, hand and machine stitching. Surface design techniques include hand dyeing, rust dyeing, dye discharge, painting, printing, image transfer, botanical printing and photography. Embellishment techniques include beading, thread painting, stamping, foiling, felting, and mixed media.
In a Believer's Graveyard: in a Believer's Graveyard is based on a visual and poetic meditation on the Tubac Cemetery. Celebtraing the common humanity beneath our diverse religious differences. Written by Dr. Alan Soffin.
Barbara Kuzara: Evoking Emotions: Emotions, such as happiness, love, anger, and fear can be triggered by the situation that you are in, the people you are with and sometimes a work of art. Evoking means to draw something out like feelings, emotions and memories. To evoke a reaction. I strive to create work that is not about what I see in front of me, but rather how something made me feel or a memory of an experience.
