Attention all Adventure/Dualsport Motorcyclists and Overland 4x4 Enthuasiasts…
The Dakar Rally stands as one of the most demanding and prestigious motorcycle competitions on the planet. Two local riders, Matt Ransom and Justin Jumet, have set their sights on an ambitious goal: competing in the 2027 Dakar Rally. As you might imagine, turning that dream into reality requires significant financial resources, preparation, and support.
To help make that dream possible, the team at Off Piste Adventure has created an all-new event with two important objectives. First, to provide Adventure/Dualsport motorcyclists and Overland 4x4 enthuasiasts with an unforgettable adventure experience right here in our own backyard. Second, to help raise funds that will assist Matt and Justin on their journey from “Kansas to Dakar.”

Introducing the FHAT - Dawn to Dusk Rally
Should you choose to accept the challenge, you'll have 14 hours to conquer 400 demanding miles of gravel, dirt, and backcountry roads winding through the legendary Flint Hills surrounding Emporia, Kansas.
At first glance, averaging 29 miles per hour over a 14-hour period may not sound particularly difficult.
Think again.
This route was designed by none other than Jim Cummins, creator of the renowned Flint Hills Adventure Trail (FHAT). Few people know the Flint Hills as intimately as Jim. He has spent years discovering the region's most remote, rugged, and challenging roads. He's carefully stitched together a route that showcases the very best—and toughest—the Flint Hills have to offer.
NOTE: This is NOT a race. It is, however, an unforgettable adventure experience.
You will be tested.
You will be challenged.
You will experience the Flint Hills in a way few ever do.
And when it's over, you will have earned something far more meaningful than a finisher's certificate.
While you're out enjoying 14 hours of genuine "Type 2 Fun" you will also be helping two exceptional athletes pursue their dream of competing in the greatest motorcycle challenge in the world.
