Festival of Small Halls is a series of tours that takes the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists and sends them on the road to tiny halls in communities all over Australia. It is produced by Woodfordia Inc in partnership with many other wonderful Australian festivals, regional partners and great lovers and supporters of folk and contemporary acoustic music. Glenorchy Memorial Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagulk People.
The town was established around The Four Posts Inn, which opened in 1847, and within two years boasted a store, smithy and post office. The town was surveyed in 1850 by Robert Buchanan who named it after Glenorchy in Scotland. In its heyday, Glenorchy boasted 33 pubs, inns and unofficial grog joints. Quite the pub crawl!
This community hall is in a beautiful part of Western Victoria in close proximity to the Grampians and Wimmera River. A river that may not look mighty but has flooded most recently in October 2022 providing some drama filled days for townsfolk and landowners. A strong sense of community and hard work have the town scrubbed up and ready to showcase a festival in our very own small hall.
Festival of Small Halls returns to Glenorchy on Sunday, 23 March 2025 with Hat Fitz and Cara and Lucy Farrell.
Opening the show will be local act Lulu & Beaux!
Cakes will be available to purchase from the local community bakers.
A bar will be available with beer, wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee.

Full Admission – $25
Concession Admission (Pensioners, Health Care Card, Students) – $15
Child Admission (Aged 12 and Under – Must Be Accompanied By An Adult) – $10

Glenorchy Memorial Hall has accessible entry (ramps) and has accessible bathrooms.
Festival of Small Halls events take place in venues operating under an approved VIC Health Covid Safe Event Checklist, and has stringent Workplace Health and Safety requirements for all travelling artists and crew. Under the terms and conditions of all events, you must not attend if you have any symptoms of Covid-19.
