FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE: Taste of the Lowcountry Crawl, with Lynn & Cele Seldon

Join travel journalists and authors Cele and Lynn Seldon on a history and culinary walking tour of downtown Beaufort. The Beaufort residents will be highlighting several of the historic entries from their new book, 100 Things to Do in the South Carolina Lowcountry Before You Die, sharing intimate Pat Conroy stories (Pat was Lynn’s writing mentor), and hosting some tasty bites from several Beaufort restaurants (also featured in the new book), making for a moveable feast for lunch. Planned bites include Lowcountry specialties like tomato pie, shrimp and grits, and southern barbecue. The walk will start outside of McIntosh Book Shoppe at Old Bay Marketplace and will cover approximately 1.5 miles of flat walking. Rest (and food) stops include Lowcountry Produce, Q on Bay, Plums, and Lowcountry Cider. A copy of their book is included in the price, as is their wealth of knowledge about all things Lowcountry and Pat Conroy.

Part of the 10th annual Pat Conroy Literary Festival, this is an in-person walking tour and experience, beginning at McIntosh Book Shoppe (917 Bay St). Rain or shine event. Limited to 20 participants with advance registration required; $75/person. Includes multiple tasting stops and a signed copy of 100 Things to Do in the South Carolina Lowcountry Before You Die.

Travel journalists Lynn and Cele Seldon have spent more than 30 years capturing the world through words and photography for hundreds of magazine, newspaper, and online features, specializing in culinary, cruise, and adventure travel. They have co-authored several guidebooks, including 100 Things to Do in Charleson Before You Die, 100 Things to Do in Savannah Before You Die, and their new book, 100 Things to Do in the South Carolina Lowcountry Before You Die. Lynn is also a published novelist and was mentored by Pat Conroy.
