Get ready to shake your tail feather during an evening of music made famous by the New Orleans piano professors of the R&B era, starting with Professor Longhair, whose Caribbean-tinged rhythmic innovations influenced the generations that have followed, including legendary players like Allen Toussaint, Dr John, and James Booker.

·         (vocals & percussion): Singer and co-leader of the band Honest Lee Soul and former member of the Kelly Bell Band, Word is singer-songwriter, poet, emcee, educator, author, three times Maryland Music Award winner, and world traveled performer. He brings an energetic mix of soul and playfulness to every show.

·         (piano): A forty-year veteran of the DMV music scene, Jim has played extensively in the Mid-Atlantic region as a member of groups such as The Persuaders (which he founded in 1988), Root Boy Slim, Fat Tuesday, and the Nadine Rae All Stars. He has appeared on stage with Bo Diddley, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, The Radiators, and The Nighthawks.

·       is highly regarded by both his musical peers and by fans in the DC area coaxing a huge range of sounds out of his trademark Fender Telecaster.  Dave performs regularly in a wide range of music venues in the DC area including The Birchmere, Blues Alley,The State Theatre, The Ram's Head, The Strathmore Music Hall, and 49 West.   He  has been fortunate enough to  play with some of the finest musicians in the country and has been featured on a number of CD's recorded in the DC area.

·         (bass): A veteran bassist, guitarist, songwriter, and producer who has performed with legendary acts including Allen Toussaint, Cyril Neville, Ernie K-Doe, and Eva Cassidy. Jeff is currently completing a new album which includes contributions from Ivan Neville, George Porter Jr., Tommy Malone, Bill Summers, Ron Holloway, and many others.

·         (drums): An in-demand drummer in the DMV who has played clubs, festivals, and more working with acts including Mike Mills, the Karl Straub Combo, The Magmatics, the Kevin Cordt Trio, and the Cyphers Band. No matter what style Matt plays, he elevates the music and, when the music calls for it, fills the dance floor.

‍ ‍l (Horns) Clarinet, flute, and sax ace Seth Kibel is a 28-time Wammie winner and one of the Mid-Atlantic's premier woodwind specialists, playing klezmer, jazz, and swing with The Kleztet, The Natty Beaux, and the Daryl Davis Band.
