Join us at Arome on July 14th from 2-4pm and learn how to ferment your summer harvest with Leighton of Belly and Soul Wellness.During this class, you'll learn the art of vegetable lacto-fermentation! Together, we will make sauerkraut and fermented ginger carrots. As we prepare these two ferments, we will discuss how fermentation works and how these foods can greatly improve our gut health. You'll get to bring these delicious and nutritious creations home in pint jars. This class aims to teach you the basics of lacto-fermentation and provide a framework for you to create your own recipes and ferments using wonders from your garden or the farmer's market.
About Leighton: I am an Oregon native, but life’s winding path brought me to Patagonia for much of my twenties. Since moving back to Oregon, I have been reconnecting with the beauty of the native flora here. My love for cooking started at a young age when I began using the plants in my backyard to create potions. That passion evolved into a love of fermentation and ancestral cooking, making me feel like I am creating magic in the kitchen. When I'm not gardening, I dedicate my time to guiding women in reweaving ancestral wisdom by listening to our bodies and cooking with what’s available to create healing and radiance.
