FEMINISM: A Reclamation of Joy in the Movement

Please join us for an evening celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, jointly hosted by the Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women (OCTEVAW), the Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre (ORCC), and The Archives and Special Collections (ARCS) at the University of Ottawa.
This collaborative event is an opportunity to commemorate the accomplishments of local organizers, and to learn about global histories of feminist thought and action through the ARCS public history exhibit “Women Against Imperialism · Archives and Special Collections, University of Ottawa Library.”

“Feminism - A Reclamation of Joy in The Movement” will include a keynote speech, a recognition ceremony honouring three key areas of feminist leadership in Ottawa (Advocate, Rabble Rouser, and Visionary), and a lively game of Feminist Trivia (not to mention prizes and free snacks!)

Rejoignez-nous pour une soirée célébrant la Journée internationale de la femme 2025, organisée conjointement par le Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre (ORCC), la Coalition d'Ottawa contre la violence faite aux femmes (COCVFF) et les Archives et collections spéciales (ARCS) de l'Université d'Ottawa.

Cet événement collaboratif est l'occasion de commémorer les réalisations des organisatrices locales et de découvrir l'histoire mondiale de la pensée et de l'action féministes grâce à l'exposition d'histoire publique des ARCS intitulée « Les femmes contre l'impérialisme : Explorer les luttes féministes contre la guerre, l'occupation et l'apartheid ».

«Féminisme - Une joie retrouvée dans le mouvement » comprendra un discours de la célèbre, une cérémonie de reconnaissance honorant trois domaines clés du leadership féministe à Ottawa (défenseur, 'rabble rouser' et visionnaire), et un jeu animé de trivia féministe (sans oublier les prix et les collations gratuites !).
