Create a beautiful mixed media A4 sized picture with textures and colours that we associate with a field of poppies.
We’ll begin with a demonstration on painting the calico fabric background. This will give us a base to work with. Learn to needle felt layers of colourful merino wool. The background with have colour and text to enhance and bring the landscape to life.
After lunch learn how to set up your sewing machine for free motion embroidery. Lear how to add free motion embroidery details using metallic threads that will add both shimmer & detail.
Please bring your own sewing machine which can drop the feed dogs & bring an embroidery foot. If this is a problem please contact deb by email: [email protected]

I am now a full time textile artist after having run a fabric / haberdashery shop in Horncastle for 8 years. My absolute favourite techniques are Free motion embroidery with applique & printing especially on fabric. Since a child I have always loved Making. Developing & delivering workshops has always been a passion of mine. A great deal of my inspiration comes from my surroundings in rural Lincolnshire which has been my home for nearly 20 years.
