At Hope on the Streets Love in Action ICT, we serve our monthly meal downtown because that is where many of our unhoused brothers and sisters are living, struggling, and surviving each day. We believe everyone deserves a hot meal, a kind word, and to be treated with dignity and respect. Our mission is not only to feed the hungry but to share the love of Jesus through action.
Jesus was very clear about caring for those in need. In Matthew 25:35-40, He said:
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink... Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me."
We believe serving those who are hungry, hurting, and forgotten is serving Christ Himself. Every meal handed out is an opportunity to show God's love, compassion, and hope.
On July 11th, we will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, smoky beans, pasta salad, dessert, water, and other refreshments to our unhoused community. We cannot do this alone, and we are asking our friends, family, churches, businesses, and community members to partner with us.
How You Can Help Before July 11th:
Donate hamburger patties and hot dogs
Ketchup, mustard, and condiments
Ingredients for pasta salad
Ingredients for smoky beans
Cookies, cakes, muffins, and other desserts
Fresh fruit
Bottled water
Hydration packets
Disposable plates, napkins, forks, and serving supplies
Gift cards to local grocery stores
Financial donations of any amount
