Feed the Hood Project

The #FeedTheHood Project is the ultimate volunteer experience. It is a monthly grassroots initiative led by the DC Black United Front and its community partners to ensure that our neighbors who are less fortunate have access to essential resources, including food, clothing, personal hygiene products, and medical supplies.

But #FeedTheHood is about more than meeting immediate needs, it is about building stronger, healthier, and more empowered communities. During each event, volunteers educate community members about their rights when interacting with law enforcement, write letters and send cards of encouragement to those adversely impacted by mass incarceration, and work together to beautify our neighborhoods through community clean-up efforts.

Every act of service, whether handing out a meal, sharing valuable information, picking up litter, or simply offering words of encouragement, helps restore dignity, inspire hope, and strengthen the bonds that hold our communities together.
