Federal Court Practice Seminar - Dayton

This multi-session seminar is hosted by the Federal Bar Association (FBA) Dayton Chapter and meets a prerequisite for admission to the bar of the Southern District of Ohio. Speakers include district court, bankruptcy court, and magistrate judges from the Dayton seat of court. The program has received approval for 3.0 general hours of CLE credit from The Supreme Court of Ohio.

COURSE OUTLINE

12:30 PM - 1:00 PM -- Registration and Opening Remarks

1:00 PM - 1:45 PM -- A View from the Bench

1:45 PM - 2:30 PM -- Practice in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio

2:30 PM - 2:40 PM -- Break

2:40 PM - 3:10 PM -- Overview of Removal to Federal Court

3:10 PM - 4:10 PM -- Practice in the Southern District of Ohio

4:10 PM - 4:30 PM -- PACER and CM/ECF

4:30 PM - 5:00 PM -- Swearing-in Ceremony

** Admission cost is tiered. The cost is $75 for people who are not members of the FBA, $50 for members of the FBA, and FREE for new members of the FBA (i.e., those who signed up within the six months prior to the seminar).
