From Victory Gardens to window boxes, get everything you need to start a garden or improve one! Bring your seed catalogs, garden plans, extra seeds to swap, resources, ideas, and any questions while we discuss our journey together! Greenhorn or Guru? It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an expert, it is always beneficial for us to share and learn together!
* SEED SWAP: bring seeds that have been separated and labeled for easy swapping! Often a pack of seeds is more than most of us need, and it is helpful to share extra with others to cut costs and promote trying out new plants.
* GARDEN STARTS: bring any available plants to share including sweet potato slips, elderberry cuttings, starts, indoor plants, ect.
* SEED CATALOGS: Always fun to see what companies are out there! Bring any catalogs new or old to help others decide which ones they want to use.
* OPEN DISCUSSION: What was successful for your garden last year? What failed? What do you want to accomplish? Questions?
* POTLUCK: Comforting Casseroles! If able, bring a dish to share. We welcome all women to our table to eat and share together whether or not you can contribute.
* JUNK DRAWER: Have gently used items lingering at home that could use a new home? Bring em in!
* COMMUNITY OUTREACH: We are accepting donations of new items for Safe Harbour Domestic Violence Shelter. Their wishlist is on their Facebook page but includes many common toiletries and cleaning supplies.
3H: Hands Hearts & Homes is club of homesteading women that meet monthly to learn, support, and grow together.
HANDS, because we actively care for and develop the best circumstances for our lives.
HEARTS, because we nurture each other as we learn and share.
HOMES, because it is our place, and people are our focus.
WE CAN DO IT together for stronger self-sufficient communities that are connected and united!
Rosie the Riveter serves as a powerful reminder that women are more than capable of doing anything they set their minds to. With her determined gaze and her “We Can Do It” attitude, Rosie inspires women all over the world to push past boundaries, break down barriers, and boldly go where they’ve never gone before.
Today, Rosie the Riveter is a symbol of hope, opportunity, and the power of women to change the world. We are all Rosies because we embody the “We can do it!” attitude regarding self-sufficiency. We seek to tackle new challenges, learn new things, expand our skills, and come together to support one another. Our strength unites us as a community of Hands, Hearts, and Homes.
