Come and enjoy poetry and music, free dinner and conversation, solidarity and community! Bring a musical instrument, your voice, your poems or short stories. Our featured performer this month is poet Brenda Graham!
At the Common Good Community Center we believe in the dignity of every person. We believe in the power of community organizing and networks of mutual care. We believe in social and economic justice. And finally, we believe in the power of creativity (music, poetry, painting, and film) as a catalyst and a lightning rod for bringing people together for social change.
Even though our community center is located in a church and many of us are motivated by forms of care and liberation at the center of religious traditions, we are a secular, diverse, and welcoming group. Specifically, we welcome folks who are currently under attack in our community -- LBGTQ+, BIPOC, unsheltered, immigrant, and so on.
