On Friday, June 28th, swoop into Midwest Photo from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a fun and informative session where you'll learn how to capture the beauty of our feathered friends. From choosing the right gear to tuning in your settings, we’ve got you covered with tips and tricks!

The excitement doesn't stop there! On Saturday, June 29th, join us at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for a birding photo walk! Put your newfound skills into action, and if we're lucky, we might even snag some stunning flower or landscape shots. Our expert guides, Kathy Cubert, Midwest Photo's bird photography guru, Canon representative Ryan Brown, and Columbus Audubon Society lead Suzan Jervey, will lead the way as you capture some incredible shots at the Grange Audubon.

Meet the Instructor:

Kathy Cubert has been photographing birds at every opportunity for over seven years. She has been a Hog Island Audubon bird photography instructor in Maine in 2022 and 2023 and will return as an instructor in July 2024. She has exhibited her imagery at the McConnell Arts Center, the Ohio State Fair Fine Art Exhibit, and the Riffe Gallery. Much of her work over the past several years has been as a photography contributor to two local conservation organizations to increase interest and help them reach conservation-oriented supporters. Within the past year, she has taught several Beginning Bird Photography classes at Midwest Photo and is a graduate of the Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist program.

Her photos have been published by Audubon.org, BWD (formerly Bird Watchers Digest), Columbus Monthly, the Arc of Appalachia, and the Appalachia Ohio Alliance. Kathy Cubert is a bird photography enthusiast with over seven years of experience. She's taught at Hog Island Audubon in Maine and showcased her work at various art exhibits. Kathy's photos have been featured in Audubon.org and Columbus Monthly, among others. She's passionate about conservation and helping photographers of all levels capture the perfect shot.
