The St Ives old tradition of Feast day night Guising has returned with the scaleybacks of hakeybay,We will be going from pub to pub with Music, singing and dancing!
We invite you to follow the Scaleyback Guild around the town, lets get this tradition back on the map!
Come dressed in homemade costume and masks, veils or facepaint. your face must be hidden so we dont know who you are its all part of the fun
You can be animals, sea creatures, fishermen, pirates, mythical beasts, in formal dress and top hats, think ball or prom wear, tattors, ribbons or feathers
NO fictional characters, cosplay or new years eve style costumes make your own as weird n wonderful as you like

Bring instruments you can play walking.
We will meet outside at the Golden lion to start at 7pm, then go down fore street to the Castle pub make merry inside and outside
Next stop the union pub and on to the sloop where we stop outside with plenty of room to dance and sing with the musicians and any beasts or Osses if they appear
We then parade down the habour front returning to the Golden lion to entertain!
we will then head to the Queens Hotel to do the same again, then on to the Three ferrets where we will have our fish fight with pillow fish or you can dance inside the pub with a pint
Last but not least, we do have to get to the kettle n wink/the western hotel before 10.00pm or the landlord will have shut the pub!
where we can remove our masks meet n greet each other
Ending the night with a music Jam making merry on a dark Febuary night beckoning spring to hurry up, to wake up and return
