Following a successful debut solo show in July, G L Barrett returns to County Arts Project Room for a pop-up show that promises a fresh view of the insect world through a macro lens.
This time, the stars of the show are some of the most interesting creatures that live in our gardens, striking fear into the hearts of many bugs – especially the ones we call “pests”. Elegant Mantises, fluffy, wide-eyed Jumpers, and dino-like Ambush Bugs are all celebrated in this unusual exhibition.
If you’ve ever been curious about what’s living in your garden, you won’t want to miss this fascinating exhibition of photographic art – these are the cutest creepy crawlies you’ve ever seen!

About the Artist
British-born GL Barrett is on a mission to highlight the insect species found in and around Prince Edward County, raising awareness of the importance of these crucial but oft-overlooked creatures. Through a portrait-style photographic approach, GL Barrett's art goes beyond the super-macro to offer a different view into the lives of these, our unseen neighbours.
Over the past two years, GL Barrett's art has featured in over a dozen shows, from Kingston to Hamilton. Now, for the first time, they have curated a special collection of works from their impressive portfolio for a solo art show. Artworks included in the show highlight a diverse range of insects, and many will be available to purchase in various formats.
