Fremont Community Theatre and Director Mike Steyer are excited to announce upcoming auditions for our 1st show in our 2024-2025 season!
SYNOPSIS:
In this musical comedy written by Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein, Charlie Price has inherited his father’s shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Attempting to save his family business and his father’s legacy, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
3 Parts: Vocal, Reading, and Dancing
Vocal: All auditionees should prepare 16-32 bars of an upbeat musical theatre or contemporary pop/rock song that best shows off your talents and vocal range. Songs from the show are allowed but not expected. An accompanist will NOT be provided for this audition. A speaker with an iPhone jack/earphone jack/auxiliary cord will be available for pre-recorded accompaniment. Please have music downloaded and not streamed from YouTube, Spotify, Internet, etc . . . You may sing acapella. We will be looking for strong vocals, but we will also be looking for your passion. Show us your confidence!
Reading: Auditionees will be given a cold reading from the script to read with others
Dancing: Auditionees will be taught a short dance sequence and asked to dance in small groups
PLEASE NOTE: Those auditioning for Lola and/or the angels will be asked to walk/move around in heels. If you do not have heels, we will have some available, but cannot guarantee sizing or fit during the audition process.
