FBC Seattle: Union Bay Natural Area Bird Outing + BIRDATHON

• 3rd Saturdays - June, August, and October 2026
• We will meet in the E-16 parking lot next to the Center for Urban Horticulture for an opening welcome circle at 10 AM, and leave for our outing at 10:15 AM.
• King County Metro Bus stops on NE 45th St. are .2 miles from the meeting point (5 min. walk). UBNA now charges for parking in the lot, but street parking is available!
• The majority of the trails on this walk are unpaved, well-maintained, and flat, but can be muddy if there has been recent rain.
• Please dress for the weather and consider bringing snacks and water. We have a few pair of binoculars to borrow.
• Note that bathrooms may not be available at UBNA. There are public restrooms at nearby U Village.
• October's event will also include a Birdathon!

FBC 2026 Birdathon

The Seattle FBC chapter is excited to be a part of Feminist Bird Club's Birdathon for Mutual Aid Disaster Relief! Our birding community is coming together to celebrate the inclusive nature of bird joy while fundraising for Mutual Aid Disaster Relief; a grassroots disaster relief network based on the principles of solidarity, mutual aid, and autonomous direct action.

This year's FBC Birdathon runs from October 16 thru October 19, 2026, and FBC Seattle is participating by hosting our own Birdathon event on October 17th, 12pm, after our regular bird gathering. Join our chapter's fundraising team HERE. Set a fundraising goal, share with your network to collect donations and pledges, and go birding (with us or on your own)! Or you can donate at our linked page above.

Note that our 10am gathering will be our usual bird walk around UBNA and ends around noon. We will take a break for lunch/snacks at the Center for Urban Horticulture (bring a picnic blanket if the weather is good!) then start birding Yesler Swamp for Birdathon. You are welcome to join us at 10am, 12pm, or both! We will meet next to the Center for Urban Horticulture for both times. Please select your ticket(s) based on when you will be attending.
