FBC Denver & Front Range December Outing

Join the Feminist Bird Club Denver & Front Range Chapter for our December 2024 bird outing! We will be collecting non-perishable foods at this outing to donate to Bienvenidos Food Bank. Check out their website to see the foods they are looking for.

Where: Pelican Ponds Open Space

When: Saturday, December 7th from 1 PM to 3 PM.

Directions to Meet-up Location: Use the address 9196 Clermont Dr, Thornton, CO 80229 to get to a house across the street from the meet-up location parking lot. Or look up The Owl's Den at Pelican Ponds Disc Golf Course. DO NOT go to Pelican Ponds Open Space on Google Maps or you'll end up on the wrong side of the river!!

The entrance to the parking lot is on Riverdale Road.

What to expect: We'll walk 1-2 miles slowly on a gravel and paved trail. We'll check out the ponds and follow along the Platte River.

• All are welcome on this outing! No birding experience is needed! We can provide a loaner set of binoculars.
• November weather is variable, so please wear layers and bring snacks, water, sunscreen, and birding gear, if you have any.

Accessibility Info: The meet-up location includes free parking, a restroom, and picnic shelters.

• This outing will also act as a food drive for . Please bring non-perishable foods that you would like to donate or consider donating money if you are able.

• If you can no longer attend this outing, please cancel your enrollment through Eventbrite so someone on the waitlist has a chance to join us.

• We want to make sure we continue to take care of one another. Following current health guidelines, masks are optional on this walk. We ask that you please not bring your pets to this outing. Service animals are always welcome.
