Tour Overview:
Step into Missouri’s layered past on this two-hour tour of the historic Thornhill and Faust Estates. Explore Thornhill, the 1819 Federal-style home of Frederick Bates, Missouri’s second governor, and learn about its evolution from family farmstead to public historic site. Then, discover the early 20th-century Faust House, a Pueblo Revival estate built by Leicester Busch Faust and designed by noted architect Tom P. Barnett. Together, these two estates reveal stories of politics, culture, and preservation across more than two centuries.
Please Note: Accessibility is limited. While there is a ramp for entry, there is no elevator. We will have a shuttle to transport us to each location.
