About this Event
'Father's Sea' - Book Presentation with Deniz Utlu
followed by a discussion with Philippa Pham Hughes
We invite you to the book presentation and discussion. Let’s connect and network over a small snack.
Deniz Utlu’s novel Father’s Sea explores the deep relationship between a father and son in the context of Germany and Turkey. The story is told through Yunus, who deals with his father's illness while reflecting on their lives together.
As Yunus thinks back on his father's experiences and his own growth, the narrative shows how memories shape their connection. Utlu’s storytelling highlights the political and social issues in both countries, while also touching on universal themes like love, loss, and remembrance.
