About this Event

Want a tour of Green Bay like never before?
Then join us for the 10th Annual Fat Tire Tour of Green Bay!

We change the route and the stops every year. If you have done this before it will be a completely new experience. This annual group bike ride has had a long history in Milwaukee (for over 40 years!), and in 2017 we branched out to a new location: Green Bay. Why? Well, why the heck not?

THE RIDE

The ride leaves at 10:00am from (NEW GREEN BAY LOCATION TBD).
Show up by 9am to check-in or register)

We'll ride to 4-5 "bar/brewery/food" stops over a 6-7 hour period, covering 15-20 miles. We'll stay together as a group for the most part with scheduled stops, but you are free to bike at your own pace. There will be games, contests and shenanigans for all!

At the end of the day, we'll stop at the Green Bay Bike Collective shop for an end party with more games, drink, and raffle prizes.

See what you're getting into by watching the 2019 highlight video.

THE ROUTE

The route is an unmarked open course, but you'll get a handy dandy map & schedule when you arrive to the start. As tradition stands, we won't release the route details until the morning of the event. Why? Because that's just the way it is, and surprises are way more fun than not surprises.

THE THEME: CAMO VS. NEON

It's not enough to just bike around town. You need to do it in style. Make a statement. Be prepared to defend your "theme team." There will be games and contests throughout the day to decide the winning theme team. (We decided to change the theme format from the long-standing Milwaukee event. You may be familiar with the traditional movie theme for the FTTM. Instead, the Green Bay event will pair two random, generic themes against each other for a day-long battle. Which theme team will prevail?!?!)

FOOD & DRINK TOKENS

This event uses a token system for drinks and food throughout the day. We arrange a limited selection for each stop with special discounted rates. The token system gets you a better deal, and it also speeds up the process for the bartenders/servers. You'll have the option of purchasing tokens in the morning and throughout the day.

Do you HAVE to use tokens? Nope. If you want something that's not on the event's arranged selection you can just pay the bar rate. If you're okay with the event selection, then we'd recommend purchasing tokens. We'll provide a list of the drink selections in your "ride guide" that you'll get at check-in.

THE HISTORY

A little background on our founding event...Drawing as much as 500 attendees each year, the Fat Tire Tour of Milwaukee (FTTM) is the oldest and most historic group ride in the greater Milwaukee area. With over 40 years under it’s “tires,” this annual movie-themed group ride attracts and unites young bucks and old dogs alike over a common love of bikes and beer.

The Fat Tire Tour is a casual paced ride covering 15-25 miles over a 6-7 hour span. The route changes every year offering a unique experience over and over again. Not only does the route change, but it’s a surprise until the morning of. What is more exciting than that? A mystery ride with mystery stops! The only thing you know when you wake up that morning is you will have a blast touring the city with 100s of your closest friends. Participants have the opportunity to dress up, compete in wildly entertaining contests, and have a plain 'ol good time. Basically, more fun than the law allows for over three decades.
