Fast Casual: a vinyl night at The Airliner
About this Event
George Chen (musician, comedian, operator of the experimental rock label ZUM since founding it in 1998) and Spencer Owen (musician/solo artist, former member of bands, spinner of records in public and on broadcast airwaves) join forces to produce a monthly vinyl night called Fast Casual, in the hallowed downstairs bar at the Airliner in Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles, CA. It's typically on the last Tuesday of every month. No cover, good food, good drinks, good sound.
Though the selectors have wide-ranging musical interests, both historically deep and eclectic, Chen brings his provocative experimemtal bonafides, and Owen brings his penchant for seductive, often funk-adjacent sounds. They attempt to meet in some version of the middle. Expect the unexpected, as well as a good time.
