Fasenacht is a beloved Volga German tradition, celebrated during the days of Mardi Gras or on Shrove Tuesday—the day before Lent begins. It was a joyful time to empty the pantry of meat, lard, sugar, fat, and butter before the Lenten fast, and to gather in fellowship, music, and fun.
✨ Join us on February 15 at the Kennedy Cafeteria in Hays for a festive POTLUCK meal, lively card games, polka music by Karl Meis, and dancing. Bring a potluck dish, bring a friend, and come celebrate this rich cultural tradition with us! 🎶🕺💃
