About this Event
Drawing on contemporary discourse analysis, as well as classroom experience, this talk explores the paradox of fascination and hostility towards Jews in contemporary China. Prof. Meng Yang argues that the Chinese case provides a distinctive lens for rethinking global antisemitism.
This talk will take place in the Elie Wiesel Center Library (Room 202). A Purim reception will follow.
Speaker Bio:
Meng Yang is an assistant professor at Peking University, where she is the founder of China’s most influential course on Jewish civilization and the creator of the country’s first university-level Yiddish course.
