Join us for a hands-on learning experience blending science, art, creative writing, and practical life skills. Heart of Joy Learning’s Farm & Forest Adventure is designed to foster observation, responsibility, resilience, and physical activity in children. This field trip was founded and is guided by one of our very own Peaceful Worldschooler moms!! she will provide a dynamic day of learning and fun, so come ready to have a blast!
What to Expect: (10AM - 2:30 PM)
Our guided session schedule will be something like:
-Farm Chores: Hands-on experience with daily farm tasks, fostering responsibility.
-Outdoor Picnic & Nature Journaling Basics: Enjoy lunch (bring your own) while learning journaling fundamentals. (All nature journaling supplies provided (small notebook, colored pencils, and a magnifying glass.))
-Hike to Seneca Creek (30 mins each way): Guided hike– with some obstacles along the path, through Seneca Creek Park, promoting physical activity through forest exploration. (Should you or your kids prefer to stay at the farm, as long as its a big enough group, two separate groups could be made)
-Nature Journaling at the Creek: Observe aquatic life and plants, recording discoveries through drawings and writing.
-Hike Back & Wrap-up (Ending 2:30 PM): Reflect on the day's adventures.
🎒 What to Bring: Weather-appropriate clothes, water bottle, packed lunch and a snack(for after the hike). Bring an extra pair of clothes if you plan for your kids to play in the creek- as they may get wet!
Important Parking directions:
1. Park on the asphalt alongside Pulver Road. Do not go up the street! You will see other cars parked alongside the road.
2. Ms. Brenda will be waiting for you at the bottom of Pulver Road, right by the mailbox. We will walk up to the farm together as one group.
