✨ Farewell 2025 ✨We’re easing into the night with a relaxed daytime celebration from 12pm - plus a bouncy castle to keep the kids happily occupied before the evening begins.
Kiss and wave 2025 goodbye in style at Evil Genius. Dress to impress - think glitz, glam, and a little bit of mischief as we send the year off properly.
The night kicks off at 5pm with a live DJ set from Mat Hoods, a producer and mixer who’s been shaping sound since the mid-90s. With releases on Filtered Deluxe, Plimsoll Records, Mabuk Recordings, Straight Up and more, his catalogue reads like a tour through underground groove history. People love to talk about his influences or his Dig For Victory radio years, but the truth is much simpler: you need to hear him spin to understand the funk. It’s music made from the soul, designed to move your soul.
From 8pm to midnight, Christchurch’s very own music-scene legend Mac Kerr takes over, bringing the fire with his powerhouse band Mac & Mates. Their setlist is stacked with classic covers everybody knows and belts out without a second thought. With over a decade of live gigs across the city - from Rhythm and Vines to countless NYE blowouts - Mac & Mates bring 24 years of guitar wizardry, charisma, and pure passion to every stage they touch. They’re the crew carrying us straight into the new year.
A full night of sound, sparkle, and celebration - exactly the kind of chaos a good New Year’s deserves.
