About this Event
A Full Day Intensive built around our core Introduction to Family Violence training, with activities, discussions, and case study work.
Topics Include:
- empowering participants to recognize and effectively respond to family violence
- learn to recognize the various types of abuse and the cycle of violence
- examine the role of power dynamics and coercive control
- challenge family violence stereotypes, stigma, and other barriers to family violence supports
- build confidence in offering empowering support to those experiencing family violence across life stages: Children; Youth; Reproductive and Pregnancy; and Seniors
- learn about available community and workplace resources
This workshop will help service providers develop their skills in recognizing the ways that family violence may be experienced across the lifespan, and in supporting clients experiencing family violence at all points in their lives.
No prerequisite training or background required, it is open to anyone who is interested in a deeper dive to get comfortable and familiar with this work.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the interactive nature of the group work, participatory and discussion-based activities, this workshop requires a minimum number of participants to run. If we do not meet that threshold, we will rebook for a future date. Registrants will have the option to carry their registration over to the new date, or cancel.
